Astroe2 is a free multiplayer 2D space battle game you play in your browser, with no download and no install. Fly a ship through an asteroid field, destroy enemy players, collect gold to upgrade your ship, and either fight for your team to capture every satellite on the map or drop into a 50-player free-for-all. Scroll up to pick a server and press Play.
Join the red or green team and help capture all of the satellites. Twelve satellites, 30 players maximum. Captured satellites fire on enemy ships and can be upgraded with gold your team collects.
No rules, no teams, just a lot of ships destroying each other. Fifty players maximum. The game restarts every six hours.
Destroy asteroids or other ships to collect gold. Spend gold to upgrade your ship or, in Satellites mode, the satellites your team controls.
Fly into a satellite's circular capture area and stay inside it. The contest bar above the satellite fills toward your team colour as long as no enemy ship is contesting the same area, and the satellite flips to your team when the bar is full. An enemy inside the area stalls the capture, so clear defenders first. Once a satellite is yours it shoots at enemy ships, and gold can be spent to upgrade its guns.

No. Astroe2 runs entirely in your browser using WebGL and WebSockets. Open the site, type a ship name and press Play.
Left mouse button or the shift key fires your blaster. Right mouse button or the spacebar fires your main engine. The arrow keys or WASD control your directional engines. Hold CTRL (or COMMAND on a Mac) and use +/- or the mouse wheel to zoom the map.
Astroe2 has two modes. In Satellites, you join the red or green team and work to capture all 12 satellites, with up to 30 players per game. In Free For All, up to 50 players fight with no teams and the game restarts every six hours.

There are five powerups: a health pack that heals your ship, a shield pack that creates a shield around it, invisibility for 10 seconds (cancelled if you fire or take damage), a 10-second speed boost, and 10 seconds of double damage.
Astroe2 is built for desktop browsers and needs a mouse and keyboard. It requires WebGL and WebSocket support.
